Summary

A snail longs to see the world and hitches a lift on a whale's tail。 Together they go on an amazing journey, past icebergs and volcanoes, sharks and penguins, and the snail feels very small in the vastness of the world。 But when the whale is beached in a bay, it's the tiny snail who saves the day。

I’ve always been a fan of Cho, and I had the opportunity to witness his preparation for this book via Facebook posts。 Pretty amazing what this guy can do with a couple of ballpoint pens。 Great collection。

If you like Cho's regular drawings you'll be blown away by these ballpoint pen renderings。 If you like Cho's regular drawings you'll be blown away by these ballpoint pen renderings。 。。。more

SUPER FAST REVIEW:Okay I should probably begin by saying that this is not a book to pick up if you’re offended by frequent and/or graphic nudity。 When I bought this my mom opened it up expecting fun comic book art, wasn’t expecting detailed full frontal nudity (though she did admit it is impressive that Cho drew that with a ballpoint pen)。For y’all who don’t mind artistic nudity though this is a wonderful book! Lots of amazing, eye-catching art that is somewhat realistic but still keeping a comic book-like cartoon charm! Both the art and the figures are absolutely beautiful。 I also like how Cho goes through the process of most of the drawings and there’s even some humor in this book。The only thing that I have mixed thoughts on is how repetitive the process stuff gets but it can’t really be helped and there’s some funny self aware stuff with it so yeah, I’m not gonna say it loses points for that。Overall this is a wonderful collection of stunning artwork and the way Cho managed to make such eye-catching, beautiful and detailed art with an everyday object like a ballpoint pen is fucking awesome。 Highly recommend this book。5/5 。。。more

This book isn't sure if it's a portfolio or a how-to。 As a portfolio, of course it's beautiful work。 As a how-to, the scant instructions are meaningless and repetitive。 "Now draw the folds of the fabric" doesn't tell anyone how to draw the folds of the fabric。 This book isn't sure if it's a portfolio or a how-to。 As a portfolio, of course it's beautiful work。 As a how-to, the scant instructions are meaningless and repetitive。 "Now draw the folds of the fabric" doesn't tell anyone how to draw the folds of the fabric。 。。。more
